Manchester United have been given a cash injection update when it comes to Mason Greenwood, with transfer talk raging around the Marseille forward.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The Red Devils agreed to part with Old Trafford academy graduate Greenwood in the summer of 2024. He was, after enjoying a productive loan spell at La Liga side Getafe, allowed to head for France in a £27 million ($35m) deal.

  Greenwood has enjoyed a productive debut campaign at Stade Velodrome, registering 15 Ligue 1 goals, but has seen his attitude questioned by Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi of late. That supposed feud has fuelled speculation regarding an imminent move elsewhere.

  Ruben Amorim could do with those extra funds ahead of the next window, as he tries to freshen up an underperforming squad, but United have been warned there is little substance to the current gossip. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told : "There are many rumours, but nothing has been decided at this stage for Greenwood. There are not even negotiations with other clubs."
